Community rules

Critical but civil genuine teaching and Course experience is allowed. Reviews are published immediately; there is no premoderation queue or automatic content moderation.

The following are prohibited:

• Third-party personal data except necessary public professional information
• Doxxing
• Threats
• Harassment
• Slurs
• Discriminatory abuse
• Impersonation
• Spam, advertising, or manipulation
• Deceptive links
• Confidential or unlawfully shared materials
• Unsupported crime or serious-misconduct allegations
• Irrelevant personal attacks
• Malicious files
• Credentials, government or student identifiers, financial or health information, and similarly high-risk data

Deliberate self-disclosure of non-sensitive personal data is permitted after warning.

Reports and reconsideration

Signed-in Users may report a Review. Reporter identity stays private and is never shown to the reported author or the public. There is no public moderation log and no website Moderator or Administrator role.

Affected Users are notified when practical and have one reconsideration channel through the contact below.

What we collect

Public Rankings and Schedule reads do not require an account. If you sign in, we store the External Identity issuer and subject, a Public Display Name you choose, policy acceptances, Reviews and Review Revisions, Thumbs Votes, Emoji Reactions, Attachments, and reports you submit. Provider profile name and email are mutable profile data, not identity.

Required for an account: External Identity issuer and subject, and policy acceptances. Voluntary: Public Display Name, Reviews, Attachments, votes, reactions, and reports. Purpose is operating Rankings, Details, and community contributions. Writes are voluntary. Declining to sign in or publish leaves public reads available. Processors include the hosting platform, PostgreSQL, object storage, and the institutional identity provider. Handling may occur outside Hong Kong. Retention follows those purposes; closed accounts keep immutable Review Revisions and Stored Files until a later purpose-based deletion, with narrow holds for moderation, security, rights, and legal process.

Retention and rights

Identity hidden means a Review Revision displays no author publicly while UST Rankings retains the internal User link for moderation, security, rights, and legal purposes. It is not anonymity to UST Rankings.

Email the contact below to request access, correction, Review withdrawal, account closure, or deletion. There is no self-service account-closure UI. Closure withdraws current Reviews and removes current Thumbs and Emoji states. Immutable Review Revisions and historical Stored Files are not bulk-deleted merely because the account closes.
